WHERE TO BUY ENGINE REBUILD PARTS??

Hi All
I live in Australia and own a 1997 406 STDT. Not sure if that is an Australian badge(?) It is a 2.1 12 valve. Had a Lucas Delphi injection pump. (converted to Bosch VE)
It appears we may have a broken piston skirt.
Looking for a set of pistons / rings / sleeves / bearings to rebuild the engine.
Have no idea who in the UK to contact, none available here.
I get up to the UK fairly regularly, so (like the VE pump, and the radiator), I could take the bits home in my luggage!!
Any advice on where to buy engine rebuild parts etc. would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Carl, below is a contact in Aussie land.

http://www.federalmogul.com/en/Location ... ation=6003

These are the main suppliers of engine parts in the UK.

If you don't get anywhere with those guys I can give you the name of engine parts suppliers in the N.W. of England (don't know where you usually visit), but if that isn't any good for you, look around for engine reconditioners wherever you are, these people will know where to buy engine parts from.

Good luck. :D

Hi Jasper (my son's name!)
I will try Federal Mogul tomorrow ( coincidently they are about 8 miles from me!)
Rang local Peugeot parts specialists and they said they could not help, hence I thought UK. Not many of that model here.

The 2.1 wasn't just fitted to the 406, it made it's way into quite a few Pugs/Citroens (the pistons are the same in the XM's XUD11ATE & BTE - I just looked) and it even made it into the Fiat Useless (which is a Citroen Synergie/806 anyway). Sadly the version withouth a turbo (XUD11A) is a different capacity & has a larger bore accordingly.

I'm sure you can find something in the UK if you don't have any luck where you are.

Btw was the radiator hand luggage?

Hi Steve. Thanks for the info, and engine details.
The radiator was packed really well, so it went in the hold.
I smiled very sweetly at the staff of Qantas.
