Aux belt......Please help!

Post by Mastiff »

In need of help guys!

Since the aux belt decided to melt on me I have found out it is the alternator. So I removed the alternator, what a job that was without the correct tools! I am now on the hunt for another alternator but have already thought......How does the Aux belt go on as there are a few components it has to go round. Any pictures or diagrams of how it should look when on would be great.

Thanks in advance,

Paul.

what car is it?
on mine it goes round the power steering pump, then runs inside round the tensioner and then bulkhead side to drive alternator then runs towards the front of the car round the idler then over the top of the crank pully
thats on a 2.0 16 valve petrol.
you do know how to release the tension on the belt to ajust it
dont you?
