Removing fuel injectors.

Post by Mikeyb »

Hi everyone.

I have a T reg 406 2.0l 110hp HDI model.

Currently there are fumes leaking through one of the injectors; thus understand that the injector needs removal, cleaning, and the seal replacing.

I have tried to move the injector by using a screwdriver to lift the injector up, but it is very difficult; there has been slight movement, but not enough.

Are there any specific tools I should be using or a technique to be used? All 4 injectors were replaced 2 years ago.

Space is very limited on the engine block around the injector which makes it hard to locate and use the basic screwdriver.

I would welcome any suggestions you may have.

Regards,

Mike :(

I recently changed my injectors, (but mine is a 2.2 HDi which has a different cylinder head etc), this link will show you: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=14490&hilit=wobble&start=15#p144830
yours could be completely diferent, but I hope that method might work for you.

(I soaked mine in WD40 for a few days before trying to extract them - it can't hurt).
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)
