I am getting a sort of hiccup when cranking/starting the engine on my 2.0 Hdi (90).
Dont know how to describe it but its as if its stuttery! when i turn the key to start her,instead of the usual firing sound of " " " " " ",it kinda goes " " """ ".
its only started doing this recently.
think im gonna get stick for the way ive tried to describe this but cant think of any other way!haha.
i put some redex in not long ago & wondering now if ive damaged anything.My HP injector pump was replaced so dont think its a pump issue

If what you mean is the 'cranking' noise is interrupted, then resumes, your starter is working intermittently. Is this what it's doing?

Or it's dropped compression on one cylinder

no it doesnt interrupt steve,it kinda speeds up for a split second.
wonder if i diagnostics would point out whats wrong. think its gettin worse. erratic's the word i'd use when starting it up

only happens every other go. and its when im cranking it. runs great apart from that 1 thing!
i get 50mpg so engine seems ok still
