Hi everyone, went on a couple of mile drive and on way home engine management light came on andwent into limp home mode since then ive tested the glow plugs with volt metre and they were shot so replaced them and tested the glow plug circut which is all ok to hynes manual, the next day started car and no engine management light, but no glow plug warm up light on dashboard but it was 12 degrees outside ? ive checked and cleaned fuel filter all ok, but car still feels like jerking at around 1100-1300rpm and needle on rev counter bounces between the latter on easy drive around 35 mph could this mean injectors need looking at,? i have 02 rapier 90 hdi does anybody know what the problems could be with light and jerking, by the way normaly the car runs fine im puzzeled, any advise or how to fix greatfull.
Dave

The HDi doesn't need glow plugs to start unless it's
very cold, so I think that is just coincidental.
Unfortunately,
engine anti-pollution system defective (or was there a different message?) can mean
any number of things so you really need to get the
fault code read.

+1 Don't be confused by the glow plug light either - it's worked by the ecu and is NOT lit at the same time as the plugs are on - it means, 'don't turn the starter until the light goes out' & is only on for more than a second or so it it's really cold, (like -10).
The glow plugs are routinely working for a few seconds before you start up and typically for 30 seconds or so after starting to help the engine idle evenly straight away, but the warning light doesn't reflect this at all.
You would be best getting the codes read.....

You get the best results with PP2000, but dealers are expensive.
Some of us have the kit - if you post your location, someone nearby might help.
