what's different on the 110 to the 90 HDI apart from the intercooler ? is it possible to convert 90 to 110 ?

Obviously the power difference , as regards the intercooler swap this has
been discussed before , it's possible as far as the parts themselves are
concerned . Think the problems arise with the ECU and other and other
sensors , they are not calibrated on the 90 to take into account a intercooler,
you could swap ecu's i suppose . Less bother to just buy a 110

No DMF, BE gearbox instead of ML, er... I think the Siemens doesn't have a cat. If you're planning an "upgrade" avoid the Siemens as apparently they can't be remapped (I think this means avoid com2000 equipped cars)

Is it Bosch or Siemens injection? If it's Bosch then there are possibilities, if it's Siemens then I don't think you're going to be able to do much with it.

Fixored, unfortunatly

I'll have to take a look, i was running a 306 past 5 years and it never let me down, it's on ebay now poor thing, but I don't fancy the work anymore and this one came along at right price + ticked all the boxes. On the 306 forum they do lots of tuning of the HDI and others, I know the 90 can be upped to 120 with 200 torque with a re-map and nothing else but not sure which engine they have, sounds pretty much the same 90bhp and no intercooler. I'll take a look under the bonnet tomorrow and see what's there

HDi 90:-
Smaller crank from the old XUD7TE (1.7TD engine found in the Pug 309,205 etc)
No intercooler
Remaps to about 130bhp.
Solid Flywheel
DOES have a CAT
HDi 110:-
Larger crank from the old XUD9TE (1.9TD engine found in the 205, 309, 306, 406 etc etc)
Intercooler
Better on fuel
Remaps to about 140-150bhp
Dual Mass Flywheel
Also has a CAT!

Strangeness
HDi 90 (DW10TD) crank - 0501 K7 common with XUD7T,
XUD7TE, DW10BTED4, DW10CTED4,
XUD9TE,
DW10ATED
HDi 110 (DW10ATED) - 0501 K7 err...
DW10TD Exhaust:
To RPO 09064
1705 PV (RP 1738 76)- 3 PARTS CATALYST
1705 PW - CATALYTIC CONVERTER WITHOUT COMPOSITE
From RPO 09065
Mounting Bosch same as before.
Mounting Siemens 1705 NK (no mention of cat, doesn't look like one either)
I'll tell you what though, I was under the impression that they stopped fitting Bosch injection to the DW10TD about the same time as the cars went fully multihex but it looks like they continued producing them - this is good to know. Peugeot are certainly getting their money's worth out of that crankshaft anyway.

Yehh same part number, weather thats because they are interchangeable so if you need a new crank they just sell the XUD9TE one or what?
Just stick XUD7 cranks in from new to save money maybe?
But they HDi90 deffo uses the XUD7 crank!

Well, the XUD7T & TE. As does the 110. It's the same part number, so if you're mad enough to buy a new one it'll cost the same money. It won't have an engine serial number on the bag...
It's interesting though, I realise the blocks will be different but the 2.0 is kind of a bored out 1.9, which is kind of a bored out 1.7 and part of the engine from a 309 is still being used in current models and putting out quite a bit more power. I knew the HDi lumps were based on the old XUDs but seeing it in writing...
Approaches shiny new RCZ 2.0 HDi owner. Adjusts anorak "did you know that the crankshaft in your engine was the same one fitted to a diesel 309? Picks self up from ground.

Had a look under the bonnet, and can't see anything written except for Bosch on the fuel rail, nothing like the 306 engine I had, so have I got a Bosch system on mine then ? or is it one of those tricks they play at the Pug factory.
Whilst I'm about it, is it ok to run on Boi-diesel ? i can get this cheap enough and it cleaned the 306 out a treat.
oh, and oil change done, didn't change the fuel filter, easy job ? was on the 306 but looks very different on this.
Last thing then, if this engine is good to re-map any ideas of cost and someone local to me in Wolves UK ?
must get a manual !

The 90s further split into two types according to the fuel system: Bosch and Siemens. The Siemens ones have a priming bulb; the Bosch ones have a pump in the fuel tank.
