406 Hdi Head Gasket - Some help and oil in the inlet pipes..

Hi All,

My first post so hello!

I'v just started stripping my 2.0 HDi to do the head gasket, I have a few questions;

Where do you put the locking pin for the crank? The haynes doesn't make any sense?

Can I remove the fuel pipes without replacing them?

I have oil in the inlet pipes and intercooler, is this normal, turbo does look like the culprit as there is signs of oil around the housing.

Cheers!,

Chris

Hi and welcome :D

The hole for the crank locking pin is up behind the starter motor....might be easier to remove it if you can't find the hole.

You can remove the fuel pipes without replacing them.

Oil in the intercooler pipes is nothing unusual.

Thanks!

Why does the haynes state the pipes need replacing, is it a sealing thing, or just precautionary?

Cheers
