clutch change 110 estate

hi all,the clutch has gone in my car,ive just bought a new one and i want to have a go at fitting it myself i know it is not going to be easy but i dont want to pay garage prices.can anybody advise me what to do please or shall i bite the bullet and take it to the garage.thanks steve.

There is a howto for a clutch change on a v6 in the knowledge base forum. It's pretty much the same procedure

thanks for getting back to me,i have got the clutch but do i need to change the dmf also,must it be changed or is it dangerous to leave the old one on.steve.

hi, ive done alot of thease in my time and theres not much that is hard to do on them but i will say it makes life hard if your doing it on the floor,but if you have use of a two post lift its very easy,also i found that it pays to replace the dual mass fly wheel at the same time as this is normaly what makes the clutch go in the first place,but all in all they are not hard to do once you get all the crap away from the box.

Get it stripped down to the point where you remove the old clutch
plate , then check the rotational play in the DMF , think the tolerances
maybe in the haynes manual or google them . You can then decide if
it needs to be replaces , i doubt it will as they rarely fail .

have you ever done any think like this before?
do you have the tools,
if yes go for it, i didn't find it hard on floor it was the more not knowing what you had to remove,now i have done it very simple,
good tip, remove front sub frame first, much easier four big bolts eather side steering rack bolts and bottom of front struts,(big bar)
you wont get box down with it in place.
