My 406 died but now it lives again

my 406 diesel died on the way home one cold morning last week .. RAC towed me home ( about 10 miles )
I had already diagnosed the problem before the patrol arrived..
Fuel pump in tank...
But to cut a long story short i got a brand new OE equivalent pump for £40 and fitted it in about 30 minutes, most of that time was spent getting to it , including drilling rivets out of cover plate.. oh, and cutting the bodywork a little to allow space to get locking ring out...
Cheap fix after all the horror stories.
