HI new here ,,,
have a 1998 406 2L auto , she starts no prob , will go into reverse no prob, but will not engage in any of the drive gears ,the sport and snow lights keep flashing ,,,,please can any one help as its the family taxi.

anyother symptoms before you lost Drive, did it start snatching going in and out of gears,
as the car been left parked on a slope ?

no it wasnt parked on a slope ,also no snatching ,and it still has reverse ,
have disconnected the batt over night ,hopefully wipeing the ECU might help,

right i have left it over night and reset the ecu ,,,,,,,,,,,,but no its still the same anyone any ideas ,pleaseeeeeeeee

no ramps but a lad where i live served his time on automatics ,just found out he did that ,so waiting on him to come home for lunch ,,,,,,,,,

hope you get it sorted,
autos are a bit tricky, especialy this frosty weather makes some autos go iffy

cant find anyone to repair it ,i live in a remote area and 35 miles to the next town,,,,,
can anyone give some advise ,cheers guys

would it have anything to do with
electrovalve controlbox ,as it was really really wet over here and had to drive in large puddles,
any help would be great ,

couid be,
all you can do is realy : anything going into the box with a plug on it soak it in wd4o and hope for the best,

Normaly if its a fluid problem , it wouid of been snatching in gears or going lazy
if its just gone like that, theres something electrical amiss id say,

idealy you couid do with someone how as diagnostic equiptment, theres amember here on the forum whos got PP2000 hes from Eire but not sure if hes in your location might be worth asking him if he wouid hook it up for you, ask Farmer p

tbh idont know which part of Eire he lives,
ive never asked,

My guess he will be on here later and hopefully read this thread,
