Erattic running fault

Hi, i have a 1997 1.8i 406 and when i driving the K light comes on but the car runs ok but every now and again the car just dies right down and the k light goes out ,then wont pick up speed then suddenly picks up again then drives fine for a couple of days then the fault comes back.I have checked all the connections and all seems ok,any ideas?.Thanks

You need a code read, could be lambda sensor fault, but the code read will tell you, the fault code should be stored if the light came on.

Thanks Jasper 5,found out it had been fitted with a performance chip and it was that at fault removed it and put the plug back on for the MAF sender and all fine thanks again,gordon
