theres things to consider with this.
not read a topic on this for a while but im sure i read on here when some1 did it that you get a judder with a solid one ... not 100% on that tho. might be worth reading up about it 1st

If its only the clutch that is going just change that , i would be surprised
if there is anything wrong with the DMF .

:arrowu: +1

ive never seen a Dmf fail on a 406 or heard of anyone whos had the Death rattle from one,

the early d9 had solid flywheel standard, so icarnt see adding one,to a 406 that as a dmf make much differnce,
possibly the bottom mount bush will get abit more stick but thats not abiggie idont think,

you only have to google it to find out why, they get bad reviews all over UK.

They most probs just replacing the clutch (Friction disc) & thrust bearing @that price,
for them to fit a New Dmf aswell you wouidnt get much change from £500 or more idont think,

the clutch kits are peanuts for them mate,

best thing to do with a clutch is you supply it and get a decent mechanic to fit it. i made a bad mistake few years ago. i let a mechanic supply and fit a clutch for my 1.9. 2 months later it started to judder again.
he did the whole job for 180 supplied and fitted ....

im having a new clutch in my new 1.9 early next year . i will 100% be buying a valeo clutch and getting a well known good fitter to fit it.. then i know whats going in ...

john if i was you i would just buy a valeo clutch yourself . just the clutch . pressure plate & release bearing. you wont need to replace the flywheel they dont seem to be an issue on the 406 ..

who told you the flywheel would need changing anyway ? or did you just assume yourself ?

Iwouidnt panic mate,
just take your time with it go easy on the loud pedal and you will most probs get months out of it,
ive noticed somepeople with slippy clutches on 406s ride the pedal /rest the foot on it and when ive drove them theres no slip,
they take some getting used too the d9s ithink compared to d8 the clutches are light weight
