I have recently got an intercooler for a spare for my 2.0 hdi 110 as the exisiting looks a bit oily, the one i have just got is of a 2.2 hdi 136,they are exactly the same as in dimensions etc bit the only difference i can see is the little valve thing at the top of the intercooler,it has the same plug in for electrical connection but the numbers on it differs from the 110,do you reckon it'll be o.k. on my 110?,to be honest i don't even know what it is and what it does.

Its called a MAP sensor. It senses the pressure being created by the turbo. if you're having doubts just change the sensor with the one from your old intercooler, its quite easy to do. I changed my intercooler the other day and one piece of advice i would give is to remove the bracket that keeps the map sensor rigidly in place, then attach it again when the rad is back in its place. That way if you bang the rad off anything when you're manouvering it around the obstacles in your path, the sensor is free to move around.
