Fluid on Clutch Pedal

Hi all,

Was giving my 2.1 a quick clean today and noticed fluid on the clutch pedal that had run down and stained the floor mat (see picture). Any ideas what this could be?

There was a very small amount of fluid, it was orange-red coloured (same colour as the coolant) and not greasy/sticky, same consistency as water.

The coolant was changed and bled around 4 weeks ago, could this be leftover coolant from the bleeding process?

Leaking heater matix? If it is coolant if you put a very very small drop on the end of you finger it will taste very sweet.

If it is coolant, I'm afraid it's not an easy job to fix as it'll pretty much require removal of the dashboard :(

Could just be whoever did the coolant change managed to get his overall soaked in fluid and let it drip onto the mat?

Cheers guys, I dried the pedal and am now keeping an eye on it for any fluid to reappear. If it does I'll taste a bit and let you know!

mjb: it was definitely all the way down the back of the clutch pedal and was still wet, and it's been around 4 weeks since the coolant change, so I'm thinking that's an unlikely option.

I'll keep you up to date, thanks for the ideas :)
