just wondering if any off you guys know a easier way to fit a lower rear engine mount , as from what iv heard its a driveshaft out gearbox oil out job and also very fiddly lol
you heard right timi.. to do the job properly it is drive shaft off job and gearbox oil drop ... and it can be a pig to get off the bracket that the bush sits in , then you have the job of removing the bush from the bracket. usually a press is needed but it can be done without a press.
jasper5 on this forum did mine on my old d8 ... its a pain in the arse.
do wat ive done get a spare 1 from a scrap yard change the mount in it then u can just change it over in an hour i ent put mine on yet waiting for my clutch to go then do it all at the same time

I changed mine in situ cutting out the old one and pulling the new one in leaving driveshaft etc intact but its a bitch to do and its physically a pain in the arse still at least i know next time to take the driveshaft out lol its a pity you cant get the 2 part mounts like you can on some of the other pugs and citroen but i think theyre really hard ones
Idont have a problem fitting them, there fairly easy-ish to persuade out,
its more of a case of getting the car high enough to make working-space, ithinks,
1st thing to do is, Put new Mount/Bush in Freezer,
Get Hack saw turn the blade round and cut a groove in the metal part of the old bush,
tap an old screw driver in the cut, until it starts bending upwards and just tap the old thing out,
pull new bush out of freezer, put alittle grease on the outer part and tap it in,
Damn i knew i should have froze it lol, just dont do what i did and let the torque wrench fling off and smack you in the forehead otherwise it will leave a nice 1" gash
All done this morning done it the easier way using the hacksaw blade and freezing the new mount took about a hour and a half not to bad .... cheers for the help guys
