Weird clutch issue?

Well I say issue, it's not really an issue. Just something I've noticed.

The Focus never had a foot rest so used to rest my foot on the clutch.
This habbit came to embarress the hell out of me when I drove Doggys car and slipped the clutch.

Now I have learnt to take my foot off the clutch and rest it on the footrest but for one reason...

Say I'm driving down a road in 3rd gear, 30mph at steady throttle. If I lean my foot on my clutch, the car will accelerate.
The clutch does not slip, it just accelerates. It's really really odd!
Sometimes it feels like the clutch plate is 'catching' on something but the car goes really well (for a 90bhp barge).

Anyone got any ideas?

Bailes.

So you lean your foot on the accelerator and the car accelerates but the clutch doesn't slip? Am I missing something? :?

Ahh

I started thinking about worn pivot shafts etc, but.. there's a switch on the clutch that can cause some weird faults if it's broke, perhaps you're pushing the pedal enough to work it - if the engine ecu "thinks" you've got the clutch down, erm, it should cut the power, not pour it on :?

Off for a search.

The site fell on its arse again (thankyou Nightmarehost  ) but I saw enough - flat spots, lack of power. I think you might actually have a fault there. Presumably resting your foot on the pedal moves it enough to make the contact and you get full power.

Maybe I need to have a look at the clutch switch positioning then. hmm

So you apply very light pressure to the clutch pedal and the car accelerates?
This exact thing happens to me to -- also Siemens 90.
