hi
been having this trouble for a few years now and really getting fed up with it
mechanics just reset engine management light and say ok to go which it is for a few days

2 codes show for antipollution fault

air mass
throttle position 2

i have changed 3 air mass filters
but was wondering if it could be the throttle sensor on the accelerator cable that needs replacing or maybe there are other sensors that i do not know about

any help would be greatly accepted

It does sound like your ecu is not happy about the signal from the TPS, it could be faulty or maybe just needs the cable adjusted.

If you can get it connected to a PP2000 dignostic system, you can watch the displayed throttle position - should be 0% until you press it, then increase gradualy to 100% on full throttle, with no 'gaps' or strange numbers.

Post your location - someone nearby may have one.

Might this be something to do with the earth mod?

Hmm, hard to find details on here - something to do with the earth for the MAF & throttle pot being spilt to stop it bringing up a fault. A Google might tell you more...

thanks for the input
ill look at the tightness of the cable and work from there
if i change tps is it easy to do as in plug and play?

tightened throttle cable = nothing
changed tps = nothing
but i have noticed that at the bottom of the intercooler there is a build up of oil could this be giving the mil light and does this mean the cooler is knackered

No, they nearly all have some accumulation of oil there, nothing to worry about.

Steve's suggestion on the earth mod. is worth researching, can't remember the detail, but I think it's relevant.
