Desperation With V6

Hi Guys,
I am brand new here and I have arrived out of sheer desperation. My car is a 406 3.0 V6 Estate 1998 and it is a D8. I am trying to locate a complete clutch slave cylinder kit and I cannot find one anywhere. The car is in the garage at the moment for this repair and the garage cannot locate the parts, they have even tried Peugot UK. Any help is appreciated.

Hi there, welcome
The reservoir, master cylinder, slave and associated plumbing are a sealed until on ML5T equipped D8s and, as you've found out, Peugeot decided it would be ok if they stopped making them
I reckon the easiest option would be to source one 2nd hand and I reckon Ade's your man, he's the resident breaker over on the coupe club, either contact him via the club or he's on ebay - well well well

Other than that, it's convert it to a separate system but that'll be a real pain

Steve,
Many, many thanks for the fast reply. I went through to Ade's ebay page, spoke with him on the phone, part ordered and it will arrive asap.
Cheers again,
Pete

Aye Steve, I went to Norwich when I saw it advertised two years ago on ebay for £1,200, got it for £900 with 68k on the clock and FSH main dealer! The man that owned it had passed away and the car formed part of his estate. Could not believe the condition, not a ding nor dent nor spot of rust! This issue with the clutch is the first money I have had to really spend apart from servicing and a new exhaust that I got from ebay! Great to have found the forums btw. Gonna order myself a sticker!

Wow, that sounds fantastic

If you do stick around watch out for being mugged for your car at a meet...

Man in Croatia locates clutch parts for desperate new member
I like this sort of success story, a happy ending
There's nothing of any use for me to add but basking in some of the glory for no real reason feels good

I'm sure most on here would have known to point him towards Ade so I have no real reason to feel pleased with myself. I do anyway
Hold on, where's he gone? I didn't really mean the stuff about being mugged!

Ha Steve,
I have been lurking around. Thanks for pointing me in Ade's direction. Ordered the parts on the Friday evening and they arrived at the garage on Monday morning. Bas***** at the garage messed up the cream floor mats, oily boots! Had the car valeted and the garage paid for it. All is good, the only problem is that I still have to feed this V6 with petrol!

It's OK, the human body was designed with this in mind. You can survive with just one of your two originally-fitted kidneys, for example ...

I have not been on here for ages. sadly my lovely V6 Estate was killed by a drunk driver in February outside my house whilst parked.
I did get another V6 pug this time a Coupe and I love it. I have bought more bits from Ade for that one!
