An intercooler is there to cool the air going into the engine to make it more dense to aid combustion.

Cool air is more dense and burns better.....maybe you notice on a cold, wet day that the engine seems to run better....cold, dense air is the reason.

it all started when i notice i had turbo lag the power was kicking in at 3000 + REVS then a day or two i only had power 0 two 2000 revs and then the power some times kick in above 3000 revs it was not pulling at all link it up to pp2000 and said the maf meter was reading wrong / faulty and turbo boost was wrong or faulty i need to redo pp2000 but as it was raining all day i could not take laptop down to car as i live in 1st for flat most of my driving is in 30 to 40 mph speed limits

Might save you a few quid,
idont know any other way of preasure testing them, Anyone else know?

Iwonder if this wouid work, (Inter-cooler preasure test)

Here the list of ingredients needed,

1 foot pump with Gauge,
2 x jubilee clips,
1x Bmx inertube,
1x pair or scizzors to cut bmx inertube,
1x puncture repair kit incase the liberated bmx intertube is punctured

wonder if thatd work

I'm sure someone's breaking an HDI on here...

I don't think running it without an inter cooler would have any adverse affect other than a slight dip in power from the turbo, isn't the HDI 90 the same turbo sans intercooler and a different engine map?

Saying that I drive a 1.9td so don't stake your house on that.

I'd be tempted to give Lozz's suggestion a go.

Suggest you clear all the intermittent faults and see which if any come back. The turbo pressure low one would fit with a boost leak or MAP sensor problem.
