Any recomendations for the best oil to use for the HDi Engine and what do you think about engine additives?

I use Forte engine flush, then change the Oil with a Purflux filter (Peugeot) and Silkolene XTR 10W/40 Semi Synthetic Oil.
I have always used this Oil for years in all my cars and find it to be very good. Some Oil manufacturers would class this oil as Fully Synthetic because of it's properties. I considered that an oil made by scientists/chemists was a good choice.
Only trouble is I have to get it sent from Yorkshire by Carrier, so I buy a few at a time
The main dealers use 10W/40 Semi Synthetic, and this will vary from place to place but my local uses a BP oil
