HDI 2.0 - 2.2 compatibility

Hi all

Anyone know if the 2.0 and 2.2 block / short engine are interchangable?

i.e. if I had a 2.2 short motor could I build all my 2.0 8valve parts on to it.

Conversely, can the 16v head be plonked onto a 2.0 block. (with obvious bits for the cam belt etc...)

Just pondering upon possible ideas for a project car......

Anyone got any ideas on this?
Maybe you have had the heads off both and know the similarities/diffetences.

Current line of thinking is towards a 2.2 bottom end with everything from 2.0 bolted on.

i have a feeling the oil ways are different but this 5th hand info so i may be wrong
