Hi everyone. I need a new clutch kit fitted to my 406 estate petrol 2.0 16V estate car and I'm just wondering what the cheapest way of doing it will be.
I got quoted £650 at Halfords auto centre but this is surely too much (I desperately hope) so if anyone could shed some light on a way which will be cheaper please post.
Thanks in advance

Jesus, thats more than my old V6 Vectra cost a few years back. What age is yours? If its a D8 it should be a cable clutch not hydraulic which is cheaper anyway. I'd suggest finding a local garage to do the whole job or get the parts cheaply from the motor factors and then ring around for labour quotes. I would have thought £400 all in would be the most a garage would charge.

Bought the clutch kit for £114 from Andrew Page and a local garage quoted £100 to fit. If it stays at that price then I'm happy but something tells me he will add a bit on when I return.
