HDi siemens to bosch swap

Has anyone actually done a siemens to bosch swap on a HDi? I've tried searching and every forum I've searched says the same - too much needs changing, there's no point.
Well I have a complete bosch engine in a 306 that I'm scrapping, the engine is one of the only bits I'm keeping! Plus a spare bosch HP pump, injectors, fuel rail and pipes, an ecu from a multiplexed 110 xantia I think (it's definitely from a multiplexed 110 of some sort!), and I've just sourced a wiring loom from an '02 406 110.
I think that should be nearly enough to make it work, unless the wiring in the car is different, which I can't see being that different, when I put a v6 petrol engine in my old 306 turbo diesel estate all the wiring for the pump was already there. The only bit I'll be missing is the in tank pump, unless the 306 one will fit (I'll check service box shortly)
But why all this hassle? I have a large-ish FMIC and pipework and I'm planning on a stage 2 remap again, like I had on the 306 that I'm breaking! The car is in for an mot at the end of the month, all going well it will be getting a good going over, including a timing belt kit, so I'm planning on doing the pump swap then to make life easier, just need to make sure it's all going to work first, so hoping someone else has been this adventurous and can confirm all will be well!
I know the ecu won't like being put into a different car, but I have the gear I need to reset the ecu and recode it to my car, failing that I can remove the immobiliser altogether!

That's a different thing altogether, that's swapping from hdi to mechanical pump, what I want to do is keep it as a hdi but swap from a siemens sid801 ecu to a bosch edc15 ecu to make remapping a whole lot easier.

I reckon any Xantia is likely to be at the most semi-mux, the 2002 406 loom will be full mux, what is the siemens car? Existing wiring? Luck of the draw it seems, you might have all, some or none, but you won't know without looking first.
I'd think you'd need the ecu from a car the same level of mux as your siemens to start off with, then you have a good chance the BSI won't throw too much of a wobbly. Looking at them on Service Box they're this RPO, that RPO, the other RPO, EOBD, not EOBD... Nightmare!

The car I have is a 2003 hdi 90 with the siemens ecu, the loom is from a 2003 hdi 110, the car the ecu came from had a bsi and com2000 so I assumed it would be full mux, I also have the bsi which I think is the same as mine but it was faulty, I was given the pair after the owner had swapped them both and I set it up for them.
Under the tank cover there's 2 plugs, one is plugged into the sender, the other has a blanking plug on the end, I'm assuming one is for a pump, the other is without, which I find odd, I would have thought it would all be on the same plug, just the pump wires are not used if it's not there, like on the 306 I mentioned above.
With the ecu being 3 plug, 2 of the plugs are on the engine loom, the other is part of the car loom, I'm not sure if the wiring is the same on this plug between siemens and bosch, I'll try the bosch ecu on my wiring later. Before I go through with the swap I'll try just plugging the loom and ecu in, without all the sensors, to see if I can connect to it through pp2000 and pair it to the car, if this works then I would think it would all definitely work once I've swapped the pump and injectors etc..
I'm hoping it's all going to work, I'd love to ditch siemens!

Now you're talking

I wouldn't have thought it came from a Xantia as I'm pretty sure they stopped making them before they muxed everything (I could be wrong, I'm too lazy to check). As for the BSI, there's a few variations on semi-mux cars but for full mux - there can be only one
Off to see if I can figure out anything helpful on SEDRE...

I'm not 100% sure it was a xantia, could have been a xsara, I always get them two mixed up, but was definitely one of the x"something" citroens!

Looks like this connector on the car loom is 32V NR (black), it all seems to be the same apart from row 4, where the SID has an extra couple of earths on G4 & H4 and the Bosch has an extra connector from the cooling fan control unit on D4 (but it's the same wire as C4). There are differences on the other two, probably due to different sensors etc. but I guess you'll be changing them with the engine loom anyway.
Pictures here
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=14836&hilit=locking ... 60#p149616 of the lift pump, the messy one covered in diesel is my 110's. As can be seen there's one plug, 6 way with two that look blank. I've no idea where the other cable went and even using the filter for the siemens on SEDRE it's still showing me the lift pump

That seems like good news, hopefully the ecu plug is wired up to suit both siemens and bosch, and you're right, the other 2 plugs will be getting changed when I swap the loom.
I'll check the wires on both plugs at the tank, see what's what.

The bosch loom came today, everything looks like it's going to plug straight in once I get all the bits swapped over. I'm going to get a virgin file for the edc15 ecu so it's ready to program to a new car, I've already been into my bsi to get the security code, I'm going to get some new copper washers for the injectors and will be aiming to swap everything over next weekend.
It's booked in for an mot next Saturday and I have the following Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday off work so should have plenty of time to get it all up and running.

Good luck with the MOT and all the best for the swap

And if you have any problems don't go all Lozz on it with a hammer

MOT should be ok, I've been working my way through the bits I know about, there's just the iffy brakes that will probably pass but I don't like the feel of them!
There's a lad a few doors down that has a very short temper when it comes to cars, needed a new wing after he snapped a clip on the under tray on his partner van and a new dash in a micra when he tried to change a relay for the interior fan!!
