hi all
iv'e recently had my clutch done but after being done i noticed a oil leak of some sort. i noticed on the long driveshaft there seems to be 2 seals at the gearbox end 1 goes in the box & 1 just sits up against the other on the driveshaft. the mechanic who fitted the clutch said it was just a stopper but i swear its weeping oil. any ideas ?
also i noticed the tube connecting the turbo pipe is gunked up which could also be leaking oil down in the same area. has any1 ever changed the pipe (its about the same size as a can of coke). iv'e seen quite a few turbo pipes the same. but do you know how much & what name it goes under

mine is a 2.0hdi 90bhp
ive just looked at a friend of mines & his oil seals are in the gearbox as i thought. are the seals just a push fit or do they take a bit presuading to push into the gearbox

Generally you would just take the old seal out and use it to tap (nice and gently) the new seal back into place. These seals would often go when a drive shaft is removed as a result of either just old age or just plain old brute force used by a mechanic. 20 quid in your local stealer should get you a new set.

i guess i should have got them changed but that's life. i will just have to try & tap it in & then put the outer 1 in
