Hi all. I am having some probs with doing a gearbox oil change. Can someone have a look at the pics here and tell me if this is the filler point. Thanks.

Hi there I'm afraid there are not many automatics on here (try the coupe club?) so we don't know much about them. Haynes only shows the AL4, the diagram shows it towards the back of the 'box so I guess that's it

What is the Year of the Vehicle
or Engine code

Ive Fired Auto/Data up but theres 2 engine codes, one ends with J4 and the other j4s.
Not sure that it Matters or not

it Apears: theres no Dipstick as such so itd be a case of getting the car on level ground and filling it to the Specified level by how many litres goes in (empty gearbox )

Its a 1998 on an 'R' phase 1.
The thing that is not confusing me is that there is a blue plastic cap with rounded serations on it that someone has told me to remove and prise out the inner cap, he says this is the filler. It is located just towards the front of the car and is just out of the original pic I posted.

you might be best popping into the Main agents, and see if they can give you some info,
some Auto boxes are fitted with a plastic Anti tamper type cap, once prized off they normaly have to Be Flung and Replaced,

Hi Loz, thanks for the reply about the blue cap, I have located this and just need some confirmation that this is the actual filler hole before I drain the box off.
I have posted a pic of the cap, located under the airbox filter housing.
