hi all iv'e scrubbed 2 sets of rear tyres on the inside. i have heard this is a problem on the 406. what is the remedy plz

Try changing ur tie rods but do the front track rod ends then get it 4 wheel teacked there's meant to be adjustment on them

I had the same problem with my 406 if the stabiliser links are ok then it will be a 4 wheel alignment you need. The rear tyres will not last long either if the alignment is wrong. I had a 4 wheel alignment done recently and it made a hell of a difference the rear tyres are wearing evenly and not scrubbing on the inside edge anymore.
