I have a problem with my 1997 exec 2.0 turbo (petrol)
Driving to work noticed exhaust blow fitted new exhaust, it had rusted through middle connection then driving home noticed that I had no turbo - no idiot lights illuminated, checked under the bonnet for anything obvious and found nothing loose, carried on driving and all of a sudden the turbo kicked in and out, now it struggles up hills it used to cruise, No turbo wind down on stopping.
Haynes manual useless. What controls the turbo?
Do I need to replace the unit or what?

Anything to do with the electrovalve (1) here?

I don't know about testing it, it takes a signal from the ecu so possibly not 12 volts. You could check the pipework. There we reach the limit of my knowledge

Dont understand much of english but ill give it a try.
When did the turbo get cleaned?could be that turbo must go on service.
Could be something with ECU maybe.
the best thing is to take it to some garage with computers so they can connect it,maybe sensors will show something.
How is your catalsyator?is it stuffed?
Check air intake also.
Dont know about mechanic alot but maybe somewhere here lies problem altought i think the turbo unit needs service or replacement or ECU system is messed up.

Have alook at the Actuator on the Turbo,
firstly look at what position the Actuator is in with the Engine not running (note what position its in)
and then look at it again with the Engine running,
if no movement from it with the engine running (tick over)

(!! dont try to move it by hand .. just look to see if its Moved)
switch engine off and then check the pipe from the Actuator to the solenoid check for chaffing or a split in the pipe,

First Ta Ares, your english is fine. Reconfigured ecu, cat is fine and no sensors are showing a fault.
Ta Lozz, bit of a problem with plastered leg so its hard difficult to get underneath. Where is the Actuator and solenoid?

the Actuator and solenoid will most likely be on the bulk head
