EGR valve

Hi mates,just a question.
I was researching the internet but i just couldnt find any pics about the EGR valve.
I do know(well, sort of) its primary task,to take part of the exhaust gas and put it back with the fresh air.
So,it means that this half dirty air is going back in my turbo right?
Secondly,my peugeot is a 1997 2.0 turbo, can i just seal the EGR valve with some metal plate like some people do on older cars?
And for last,i can find any pics of where this damn EGR valve is located, all i can find is some diesel and 407 pugs.,so if anybody here
has some pics of this egr on turbo engine that would be splendid.
I was reading on new cars, egr is,like everything else, connected with ecu,so any work with egr means that ecu will go crazy, but, since my car is 1997
maybe my can be blocked with no errors occuring.
Thanks

Hah.. just Google EGR and you'll get it
No idea where it is on the 2.0 petrol turbo but probably at the back of the engine somewhere. I got rid of mine completely (HDI 110), sealing both ends with
this.

first drink a can of pop or beer once finished cut a piece of the can out remove one end of the egr valve make a paper template put template on the flatten piece of can cut and drill in the right place then put piece of can in position to block the egr gases
this is much cheaper and you get to have a bit of dutch courage before you start on it

thanks folks,i think i know how to do seal it but i was having a problem finding the damn thing
also i didnt knew if sealing the egr valve is healthy on this type of engine, older cars yes,but wasnt quite sure for this type.
You think it wouldn be any problem?
cuz it has ecu so i think the ecu would go little bit crazy if i go mess with egr.

I thought egr valves were a diesel speciality

Am I going mad?

Petrol cars are a pain for EGR faults as well, the Vauxhalls especially!

Ah ignorance - the price I pay for driving bangers most of my life

Do we know if the TE has one though, 'cos looking at Service Box it appears it doesn't
Unless I'm looking in the wrong place of course...

i belived that every turbo engine has an egr valve.
Just trying to ease the breathing for my 406 on every aspect so i turned attention to egr valve also.
i saw, even on youtube some guys on 406 like mine, turbo 2.0 have sealed the egr valve.

yes,the thing that most buzzed me that if i seal EGR valve, the ECU system would get other information than normal and i didnt know how car would react on it.
