im in the Middle of stripping the Gearbox out of punto 1.9 diesel,
the passenger side shaft was held in with 3 bolts, got them out and prized the shaft out,
now im stuck on the driverside shaft, its not bolted like the other side, it looks like the gaiter goes to the box
no lip to lever on,

Any one here know what im talking about,?
any ideas.
box is supposed to be sent off tomorow to gearbox specialist ..but im stuck on this last drive shaft,

no manuals nothing, and the fiat forums are a joke/waste of space.

going off that it looks like remove metal band and pull it out, but its weird why theres no cup

There is a clip holding the rubber onto the gearbox, the rubber folds over a lip on the gearbox.

Make sure those rubbers are in perfect condition when you put the gearbox back in.....they fold over the bearing on the driveshaft.

so its just acase of removing the Metal band and popping the gaiter off,
im looking forward to fitting anew metal one (not) cable tie shouid be ok?
what do you rekon?

iwill replace the gaiters they dont look worn but for what they cost imight aswell,

Not sure about the cable tie, alright if the lip is deep enough, but I would probably fit a metal clip, can't remember if there is enough room for a jubilee clip.

Igot the Gearbox out, it took some persuation,
Clutch plate was welded to the preasure plate, fried

it was fine until iloaned it to the sister n law,

Got the gearbox back in,

had to take it back out again, No clutch
The new plate is Fubard. dont know how tho as ihavent forced the box in, it went in with a nice clunk,

its the new type spring loaded anti vibration centre type, (Valeo)
wont be using them again
