Bit chavvy I know but I've got a old one sat in mums garage and I'm thinking of having a go at fitting it to my 406, I miss the sound of my old car and I doubt I'll be able to afford anything sporty in the future lol. I found this picture on Google of one fitted to the same engine, would this be the correct way or can I ditch all the pipework from the throttle body?

Idealy..you need to have cone filters away from the Engine,
You will get alot of heat soak (ithink) where that one is situated in the picture,

Fair enough, I admit I thought it quite far away from the engine, at least compared to my old car when it practically right next to it! When it comes to removing the piping, are there any sensors like a MAF inside the induction hose ie. would it safe to remove it all without affecting the running of the engine and bringing up any warning lights.
