Stupid Oil Question

Post by MaDc0w »

I seemed to have lost the page?! in the 406 manual where it says what oil types/brands Peugeot suggests.

Would someone be so nice as to look for me and post what the manual says?

Thanks.

Suitable oils

You don,t specify what engine is in your car. However if it is petrol 1.8/2.0 litre
then i would go for semi synthetic 10w/40, it,s also what Peugeot say.If on the other hand you have a diesel engine again semi synthetic 15w/40 is the most popular. People also use 10w/40 as well - there isn,t much in it at the end of the day. As regards brands there are many good ones,Peugeot recommend Total,Esso.Castrol is also good.Personally i put Total in my 2.1 TD. I hope this gives enough guidance as to what to choose
Cheers Ian...........

<- says under the avatar what car but anyways it's a D8 2l petrol. But there are 1 or 2 types that were lised in the manual. I'm somehow missing all pages after p207....

One was Esso Ultron in 2 or 3 different viscosity types and the other was Total... also in 2 or 3 different viscosity types.

I'm looking for what the manual said exactly..

I personaly use the semi synthetic/sometimes plain minerol cheapo stuff from the supermarket..
