V6 throttle jammes wide open?

Sat in my Uncles garage a bit miffed. The throttle jammes wide open on me this afternoon. I got it towed back and just started dismantling. I've replaced the throttle cable but when I removed all the inlet pipes to clean the lubricate the throttle body I've found a big oval metal band holding the throttle open.
I can't find where it's come from? Can it be removed?
Does anyone know what it could be?

Bailes.

There's a warning about this on this site, it's from the airbox/intake pipe and should be removed, ideally before it comes loose and jams the throttle open!

That's weird. I seem to have an ES9J4S engine and ES9J4 airbox and intake hose? :?

This is getting a tad weird. Maybe it's cause mine is an auto?

I have a habbit of picking up weird 406's.
1: 1.9TD L with aircon, family pack, tape with autochanger and electric sunroof.
2: 2.0 HDi Rapier with folding mirrors and a DPF.

And now this '03 406 V6 GLX with black cloth and ash wood like my rapier?

Maybe whack the VIN into ServiceBox and see what it shows?

An '03 plate should have the ES9J4S engine but I've no idea how different the airboxes are. The sticky says that the later engine is probably not affected but perhaps actually it is?
