starting up

When starting from cold I have to give the engine a couple of revs or it cuts out,but seems ok when its hot.any ideas,car is 1.8 petrol 1997.

Try cleaning the ICV.

Yeah that did cross my mind lozz,but car ticks over great,so not really sure.also there is a hesitation when accelerating and don't know if its related.

it only takes 5 mins to remove and clean, (carb cleaner or brake cleaner)
Might not be that but well worth a try,
