I don't think so. A HDi 90 isn't going to do a whole lot more than 100, no matter how long your test track is......
If it was in 'limp' mode I reckon it'd be much slower than that.

Limp mode will restrict the revs to 3k rpm I believe. So if you can rev past that, it's probably not in limp mode

Iagree with doggy,
you will have to bare with it to get more than a ton out of it, (on your own private highway that is)
Mod it mate,
get rid of a few bits it dont need,
eg: the cat. /egr.

If it was in limp mode then you'd have a job getting to 50.
A ton is really hard work. They'll go to 90 happily (and thirstily) enough, but then it's a long slow begrudging creep up to 100, and even then only if you don't meet an upward hill.
Done it twice
However, it feels faster than the car is really safe for. The comfortable effortless floatyness of 70 is gone, and it feels like hard work and unstable.
What does it feel like in a 2.2? Shouldn't be such hard work but I bet it still feels uncomfortable.

What's the recommended approach to de-cat-ing?
Cut it out, bash out the insides, then weld it back in?
EGR shouldn't be a problem as long as it's not stuck open.
On the one hand, it helps the car warm up quicker, and heats water to the heater matrix -- which you may appreciate on cold mornings. On the other hand it makes the car a complete bitch to drive.

High speed stability is really pretty good, but you do need spot on alignment, decent boots, pressures etc.
A remapped 2.2 is good for about 140 and 120 / 130 feels pretty effortless

100mph in a 306 hdi 90 is effort less, just getting it to top speed is a bit hard but 115mph is doable just .
if you want more power then a pro steve remap will get you to about 120bhp his web site is hdituning.co.uk i think
all speeds where done on a privet road
in limp mode you can't get more than 50 out if it as it is restricted to 2,500rpm
krisb is near you in Kent look him up

Yeah,bash the insides out,
and put the empty can back on for the Mot tester too look at,
its not a fail yet, but it might be at some stage,so id guess, having in place is best option,
