Hi guys
Maybe a stupid question but my hdi has its Engine management light on and doesn't rev above 2800 rpm, I haven't had on a machine for a code yet as money's bait tight but would it go through a MOT with the revs being limited like that

I think you've had it for a start because the eml is on :(

Mine went through in limp mode, but that was in 2008. Got an advisory about not being able to rev above 2800.

If you're lucky you might find someone nearly with PP2000...

Perhaps if you put your location you might find someone nearby.

go to the mot station and see if they will do you a deal on the coda read and the mot, my mot man will fit tires and do up nuts and bolts and do the mot for £50 and he charges £35 for the mot by its self.

My local independent garage charged me £35 to read the code, and reset the EML.

Can anyone with PP2000 do this reset? What causes the darn things to light up anyway? I.e IF I get PP2000 hooked up to it, and reset it, how likely is it that it will just come back on again?

if you don't fix the fault that made the engine light come on it will come back over and over till the mechanical fault is fixed

Could the ABS sensor cause the EML light to come on? Or the Air bag ECU electrics?
Apart from that my car is absolutely fault-less and I had it hooked up to PP2000 only 2 weeks ago and threw up only those 2 faults .... Seems silly for the EML to come on for those two though?

do you know what the fault codes where as it will be one or both of them making the light come back on

the eml if for engine related faults only, so the abs being faulty would make the abs light come on.
