i dont know if any of you have come across this but i have never seen anything on here about the clips that hold the steel pipe running from the egr to the manifold.
my car is the 04 model, the very last of the 406 model
the jubilee type clip holding the steel hose on,it is not a conventional type clip.
on inspection, its got a groove the whole way through it and its a pressed affair.
if i remove the clip, its scrap and a normal jubilee clip will not work to re fit the hose.
has anyone come across this before?

Just to be sure here..... are you talking about the brass coloured pipe that runs along the back of the engine? It's held to the egr by a funny looking clip and then bolted to the inlet air pipe assembly at the passenger side rear of the engine? If so then the clip is most certainly reusable. Its not too bad to get off but it can be a real pain in the backside to get it reattached. The last time I did it I used a couple of very strong screwdrivers and a pick type tools. I also needed another man to help me close the clip when reattaching.

These clips are easy to refit.

Use a pair of side cuts (wire cutters) on the middle part to compress the clip, it will fall into place easily.

You can also use a small pair of pointed nose mole grips to compress the ring.
