Turbo Hissing

Post by patapouf72 »

Hello everyone,

Notice few days ago, while driving in town with window down, that the turbo is pretty lively, at any gears from 1500 the turbo just hissing away quiet loudly i say (quiet nice to hear to be honest) haven't notice any lost of power or bad consumption

Is it normal ? or could it be an air leak somewhere ?

THanks

With the windows down you should be able to hear it, although if it's very loud there might be a problem.

As steve says, it's all down to how loud the hiss is?

Check underneath the bottom intercooler hose (assuming a HDi?) it can rub-through due to engine movement. Mine went all of a sudden and was *loud* but a certain amount of hissing/whistle is normal.
