was gonna change the timing belt but took the top cover off and the belt and teeth look in good condition, so will leave it for now
mate don't just go by looks with the timing belt you should get it changed if u don't know when it was last done

You can only really tell by pulling the belt off, bending it backwards and checking for tiny cracks at the basses of the teeth and hey, once you've got it off..
but I like to live life dangerously!! na I will get it done when the weather gets better..........if ever. I have read on here that most times if the belt breaks on the 2.0 hdi it breaks the rockers rather than bends the valves........I have changed loads of cambelts when I was younger you can normally see on the toothed side of the belt if they run back on a tensioner or idler pulley you can normally see small cracks where the teeth are.
