Gearbox/Transmission Oil Change 406 2.1td

Hi All,
I'm going to be servicing my car soon, prior to a European drive. I've got no issues doing the usual filters & oil, but I have never changed the gearbox/transmission oil and thought it might be about time I did!
I'd be grateful if anyone can provide a bit of guidance or handy tips to help me out, such as what oil to buy, do I need to get any new seals or other parts, handy tools to use etc etc...
