MAF

Post by patapouf72 »

Hello Everyone,

Another MAF question.

I have bought a new MAF sensor, cause been told by my garage that the one fitted was faulty.
Well, all change, but now, have no real power under 2000 rpm, have to wait for turbo to kick in.

Didnt have that problem before, car was just flying up hills.
Any idea what it could be ?
I have try driving with the MAF unplug. But engine light come one, and car wont pass 60 (safety mode i guess)

THanks

Was it non OEM MAF that you fitted? (like something bought via e-bay perhaps?)

If thats the case, In my experience i would say that get the OEM one from pug dealer...

Is it possible to borrow a MAF from a friend with a 406? Maybe get them some beers and see if the swap makes a difference, at least you will know if it is faulty or not.

Mine was similar to yours, got better with new ( or borrowed? ) electrovalve and cleaned the throttle position sensor. 10 mins to do both jobs.

I had one from Specialised sensors and it wasn't very good.
OEM Siemens much better, but 70 quid.
