Smoke from the exhaust

My Picasso HDi 90 is having an oil change tomorrow, and I'm wondering if this would stop some of the smoke I normally see. Not saying it smokes a lot but I've noticed a little at start up, a puff of it when I've given the throttle some stick and I have noticed some when I've been sat in traffic for ages and then moved off.

An oil change will not change anything, it's highly unlikely to be bore wear or valve stem leakage so it won't be burning oil in the combustion chambers, HDi's don't
use oil in that way - they do leak a bit though.
Sounds like Diesel smoke (might benefit from some injector cleaner) or is the Air Filter blocked? a worn EGR valve can cause smoke a bit.
Is it losing water or pressurising the coolant hoses too much? steam-like smoke would indicate Head Gasket leaking into the bores.
'Some' smoke is perfectly normal, ask any VAG driver

so I wouldn't think there's anything 'wrong' as such. To be fair when my 110 was smoking noticeably in the rear-view then a new EGR stopped that overnight.

As welly says, it's probably normal.
A boost leak can cause it too

Let us know what colour the smoke is - this will help to possibly diagnose the problem.

Hi, thanks for your replies, not worried anymore! I would say its verging on black smoke but more grey than anything!

Oh yeah, its not losing any water and I changed the air filter just 2 months back!
