central locking prob still... :(

Post by metalgear »

Hello again,

Still got my locking prob. One of those jobs I can't be arsed to do but its annoying me so anyways..

I'm told the Central locking unit is up in the far right under drivers footwell but,
would dis/re-connect this solve the prob
Don't want to cause more damage as in my car won't work again but I'm also told a ecu is in the drivers door as its part of the lock
so now I have two units?

I've seen ecu's on ebay cheap but unsure if this is the door one or the underside one and if they need to be programed??

The main problem is that the back doors are locked (forever!) but locking the drivers or passenger door will deadlock the boot, its as if the back doors don't register...

Anywho any help is helpful

Hi, I had the problem where both front doors and tailgate would lock and unlock using the key (fob has had it), but both rear door would not open at all from inside or outside - is this the problem you have too? If so try this; disconnect the negative terminal from the battery and leave it all day (or over night), reconnect and this should do the trick, it did on mine. It does not work if you just leave it an hour or two.

Hope this solves your problem.

Paul.
