Firstly, hello to you all.

I own a 2002 406 2.0 hdi (90)

The the exhaust flexi has started blowing quite badly. I've had a quote of almost £300 fitted for the replacement.
My question is, has anyone used something like THIS?
£50 looks better than £300 lol

Hi & welcome to the forum. 8)

I had a similar failure on my previous 2.2 HDi and had to get it fixed by welding a repair section in, (on the 2.2 the CAT / DPF assembly is so close to the flexi, there's no bend beforehand). If your front box / cat is far enough back to let you fit the replacement flexi you linked to, I can't see why not.

Thank you for the welcome and reply :-)
I'm going to get that flexi replacement and if there isn't enough pipe from the cat, I'm just goibg to chop the cat out and weld a straight pipe in.

This is what I got for my neighbours 2002 110 hdi when his flexi gave up being flexi http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221082635415? ... 39.l2649,i know for post 2001 cars they have to be "type approved" but my mot tester said as long as it's a cat he and nobody he knows checks stamping marks on them,i had to supply a pre 2001 reg to them to buy it :supafrisk: as they won't sell it to you otherwise. :supafrisk:
