Using all my rad water

Post by davywalker »

Hi folks, my 406 1.8 petrol is using all its water, now it doesn't pressurise the system in any way, but if I fill the expansion tank start up the car and rev it by hand with the bonnet open, I'm getting a lot of steam in seconds from the back of the engine front of the bulk head, below the manifold, any ideas before I start pulling the poor old girl apart,

Sounds like the core plugs have rotted through to me  , there easy enough to do just bad access :x
But it could just be a split water pipe, I'm not to up on that engine layout

It'd be guessing game other wise. :?

Have you tried filling it up with water and squeezing the pipes /with a cold engine :?:
