Starter Motor access

Can I just say what a stupid stupid place to put the starter motor
I am deeply angered today.....
Sump guard has one bolt that just keeps turning so have left it on but with all other bolts removed I have just twisted the guard out of the way.
I have seen a photo of I think a diesel in the KB and the access seems much better than my petrol.
To improve access as well as removing the sump guard I have removed the air filter box..
Now, I have removed 1 x 8mm hex bolt.
I have found the earth connection which has 2 nuts and do you think I can get that off without the earth strap coming with the bolt?

I have put a spanner in to hold the other nut in place whilst trying to un-do it and still it won't move, even with a healthy dose of WD40.
Here are a few photos of todays progress.
I have bought a starter motor which will be here tomorrow, hope to fit it so I can take her to the 'ball' on Sunday.......
It would be amazing to meet you all again.....
Can I also thank Jasper5 for all his patience (he has the patience of a saint may I add), when this game of hide and seek got to me I called upon him to help me find the awful thing.....
As you can see, access is a bitch....

Pointing for good measure (this was to point to Jasper5 where I thought it was...)

Any advice on how to separate those nuts so I can take that bolt out without the earth wire spinning around with the bolt?
EDIT: After the initial start up yesterday, driven for 1/4 mile, stopped for 30 odd minutes, she started again absolutely fine.
Then after a 2 hour ish break, again she started absolutely fine.
This morning, after what, 18 hours rest again she started fine, starter motor loud obviously but I know she is starting better because my clock said 18:25 where as before just starting her would reset the MFD.........
Also, no warning lights, ABS OR EML and no misfiring either........
Self healing car? Maybe......
