Hi & welcome,

Sorry to hear your 406 is upset.

Unfortunately 'ANOMALY ANTIPOLLUTION' is caused by lots of different things, so you need to get the fault codes read to get some more information about what could be causing it.

Greetings :cheesy: Could you tell us which HDi you have and approximately when it was manufactured?

Dear team? Are we a gardening program?

That's good, it was too wet in the spring and too dry in the summer here, so everything's been a bit rubbish this year. Still, I can mail you some colorado beetles if you want :P

Some years ago, the 2001 90HDi which I now own was checked by a major British Peugeot dealership for a similar fault. According to their invoice, which came to me with the car, there was metal contamination in the high-pressure pump, which was replaced. The invoice alleges that the fault codes were cleared, but it also includes a note referring to the possibility of metal filings elsewhere in the fuel system - which looks to me like an 'escape clause' on the dealers' part, suggesting that they were not confident of having permanently removed the warnings. At all events, the car still (six years later) registers ANTIPOLLUTION FAULT on starting and also, occasionally, after a long period of idling or low-speed manoeuvring. There is nothing wrong with its running, and the fault was not mentioned in the last annual test (April this year), even as an 'advisory'.

Oliver Mundy.

with all common rail diesels, all manufacturers recommend replacing all fuel pipes, connections and components whenever any part of it is disconnected as any microscopic bit of dirt or dust can contaminate the system.
This is good in theory but in reality isnt realistic cost and labour wise in most cases, but worth bearing in mind. :cheesy:
