Have a 90bhp hdi 406. and it starts. runs for a minute and just cuts out .... the autodiagnostics light is also on.

Maybe lift pump failure? If it has one - Is the hp pump Siemens or Bosch? (Does it have the the squeezy bulb thing towards the back of the engine? Looks kind of like a grenade...)

Diagnostics of some sort anyway, without that you'd be guessing...

From Darren's previous posts, seems he's in Ireland, so 'over' to Frank?
He was looking at Rapiers. so I'm guessing a Seimens equiped 90.
Check filter housing etc for fuel leaks?
In-tank strainer, maybe?

I seem to remember something about the crank sensor too (anyone?) but if it's a Siemens then diagnostics is the only way to go.

These are the same symptoms as the HPi petrol that I just fixed recently, fuel pressure regulator was the problem, but I agree with others....diagnostics first!
