Hi everyone,
I have just had the engine out to replace water pump, thermostat, leaking water pipe from pump, core plugs, new timing belt, tensioners etc. spark plugs
The engine is back in the car, when I turn the ignition on all the dash lights show OK, the engine turns ok but does not fire, no spark!!
I bought the car new in Thailand in 2002 and it's been fantastic 140,000 km the car still started in the first second up until now! Is it possible that
the BSI has immobilised the ignition coil after engine removal? By the way this is Thailand and Peugeot dealers and experienced Peugeot mechanics are few
Anyone have an idea?
thanks and regards
Pugph

Oops

Any chance of any diagnostics?
We had someone on here recently that, after doing a similar job, found their engine would not rev. It turned out that they had reversed two connectors. All I can suggest is to check all the connections, also check for trapped wires. Diagnostics would be very useful but I suspect you won't have any access to that sort of thing

Well, my Lexia 3 arrived, took two weeks to install (nightmare) plugged into the car on wednesday said the car had a permanent bsi fault plus some shorted wires and open circuits, mainly to do with engine management ecu and it is now showing on the dash both keys need reprogramming! PP2000 didnt seem to be working too well, so installed updates from dvds after which it would not open, did not recognize my RDDI# error code 4, or the generated activation code error 11 so I uninstalled and deleted every thing and reninstalled PP2000 took about 8 hours to get it working again much better install, now showing diagrams of where the problems are!
Interesting thing is the VIN is showing the car as 3 compartment 5 door, when it is a full optioned 4 door sedan. I'm replacing the crankshaft angle sensor and the cam position sensor, in expectation they might be the problem. So hoping the car will be on the road by Christmas.
regards and Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year
