No gate!!!

I have no gate on my reverse gear , is this something to do with the selector cable adjustment as I'm a little confused by this one ....any help ?
Possibly. From your earlier posts, I can tell you have a 2.0 coupe, which will, (I think), have a BE series 'box.
All my dabbling has been with ML5/6 boxes which are different, having a lift-for reverse collar around the gearstick and 3 selector cables, (forward/back, left/right and lift). Yours will only have two, (I think).
If you post your VIN, (or PM if you're uncomfortable with posting), I / one of us will post a picture of the linkage etc.
You should be able to pop the cables off the selector levers at the 'box end, then work it by hand. If it still has no 'gate' in this condition, the problem's inside the 'box.
(It would probably be a lot easier if you could compare it with someone else's).
