need opinion on if my map is standard?

I have a 2.0 hdi 110 406, 2001y
The car pulls really well from 2000rpm to about 3500 and runs out of steam, totally pointless revving over 3500, 50 mpg. This my second 406 2.0 hdi 110, had one now for nearly 10 years, my 1st one drove the same.
when i was looking for my second 406 i test drove a lot of 406's which seemed quite flat?
It matches most cars on accelleration whitch have approx 140 bhp?
So my question is this standard mapping?
any input apreciated

Greetings.
Like you, I've owned two HDI110s, and both of them drive like yours. I would say that the rev range is 1800 to 3000, after which you're either doing 90, or need to change up.
If they lack power, then it can be things like throttle position sensors and mafs.
On these, I wouldn't compare them by horse power with other cars, more by the torque curve.

Have you checked for one of those 'piggy-back' type plug in boxes? I had one on my 90 and it was very pokey at low revs but flat at around 3500rpm.
If you have one, you may find an extra lead or a cleaner connection on the fuel rail.

the best way to check is to time 30mph to 60mph or what ever times then see how it compares to a mapped car as for feeling flat the other cars may have some faults on them as they are old cars now unfortunately

Or, as you're car seems to drive well, enjoy it and look after it.
I can't think of any sensible way to check for sure, short of plugging in pp2000, and seeing what that tells us?

thanks, my map seems by what you say seems to be standard, I get 50 mpg even when pushing it hard.
What power delivery would you expect from a remaped engine?
Any input appeciated

Well, I got the following with a standard 2.2 HDi 136 estate:
40-60 in 3rd 5.0 sec., 70-90 in 4th 10.1 sec., 80-100 in 5th 13.2
If you can match or better that, you have no ordinary 110

From what I can gather the remapped 110 gives similar BHP as the 2.2 but under normal driving conditions you'll have extra torque and a small improvement on MPG's (depending on how its been mapped).
3-3500 RPM is pretty much the top end on single turbo diesels as far a oomph is concerned, you're pretty much just throwing fuel down the exhaust after that.
Not sure on acceleration times but if you find a cabbie on his way to a job on a friday night and you can keep up its probably been tinkered with
According to autotrader a 110 GTX will do 0-62 in 12.8 seconds but TBH that seems a little leisurely as I could probably top that in my old 1.9TD.

My 110 used to pull like a train from 1800 to 2800 and then start to tail off, so a very short 'window' of power. Most have said beofre that a remapped 110 will happily pull strongly past 4500 rpm which is way different to standard cars.

Thanks for your input, obviously it has not been remaped

3000 rpm is about the max you can use anyway with any degree of efficiency, over that you are wasting fuel as the torque will have dropped to a very low level. Diesel characteristically give good torque at low revs but not at high ones.
There have been engines with fairly good high rev grunt, I had one, the old BMW IDI but the torque at low speeds was useless, I was always stalling it. One of the things I like about diesels is the effortless low speed driving with little gear changing needed, the best engine for this was the 2.1td, I ran XMs with these engines for over 15 years and they really will pull smoothly from tickover, sadly the Hdi is not so good with a fair bit of vibration below 1500 rpm.
